hello hello! this is lauren macHattie and I was an mpm camper from 2001-2004. i have some of my most precious, funny, sad, wonderful, and exciting memories from mpm and can't use words to describe how much i loved it. though i'm still playing the violin, i'm not coming back to mpm this summer because i'm working at a ymca camp as a counsellor for children with special needs. however, i would be lying if i said i wasn't thinking about trying to be an mpm counsellor in a couple of summers! you're welcome add me to your friends, but my journal is friends only right now. anyways love to all and may you never forget how wonderful mpm was!
Well hello, everyone! Amelie pointed me into the direction of this ingeniously-themed LiveJournal community, so here I am. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Elise, and I went to MPM in 2001 and 2002, full session both times. If any of you got the MPM brochure a few years back, I was the girl with the bad picture on the cover. I don't know what the brochures look like now. Anyway, I played mostly viola and a little violin there, and used to study with Meg during the year. I switched fully to viola and now major in performance at Manhattan School of Music. I miss all of my MPM friends, and although I get to see some at times in New York City there is nothing quite like being down at the waterfront during sunset on a summer evening with the same people. Are any of you going back there this summer? What have you all been up to in your lives? In music? I hope everyone is doing well...

This has been long called for. Cudos to Maeve for actually making a LJ for MPMers everywhere. If you don't know me, i'm Amelie... i went to MPM from the summer of 1999 to the summer of 2003. I still maintain that MPM is the greatest place on earth.
First post. OMG EVERYONE TELL YOUR FRIENDS.
